Worlds Teams
Each year, USAT is eligible to qualify age group teams for the International Triathlon Union's (ITU) world championships. World championship teams are fielded for Short Course Triathlon, Long Course Triathlon, Short Course Duathlon, Long Course Duathlon, Aquathlon, and Winter Triathlon. Short Course (Olympic) Triathlon
The 2009 Short Course (Olympic distance) Triathlon World Championship will be in Gold Coast, Australia, on September 13, 2009.
Long Course Triathlon
The 2009 Long Course Triathlon World Championship will take place on Oct. 24-25, 2009 in Perth, Australia.
Short Course Duathlon
The 2009 Short Course Duathlon World Championship features a 10k run, 40k bike, 5k run through Concord, N.C., on September 24-26, 2009.
Long Course Duathlon
The 2009 Long Course Duathlon World Championship has not been announced by the ITU.
Aquathlon
The 2009 ITU Aquathlon World Championship features a 2.5km run, 1km swim, 2.5km run at the Gold Coast of Australia on September 9, 2009.
Sprint Distance Triathlon
The 2009 ITU Sprint World Championship features a 750m swim, 20k bike, and 5k run through the Gold Coast of Australia on September 12, 2009.
Winter Triathlon
The 2009 ITU Winter Triathlon World Championships are set to take place in Gaishorn, Austria on February 13-15, 2009.
