Team USA Wins 8 Medals at Long Course Duathlon World Championship

GEEL, Belgium — Team USA won eight medals Sunday at the Long Course Duathlon World Championship.

The U.S. team, comprised of 56 athletes, earned three gold, three silver and two bronze medals while competing against the top duathletes in the world in the 18k run, 74k bike and 9k run event.

Members of Team USA earned their spots at one of four qualifying events: the Carrboro Classic Endurance Sports Festival in April, the Striders Duathlon (April), Powerman Alabama (April), and the USAT National Long Course Duathlon Championship/Auburn International Duathlon (May).
