2024 USA Triathlon Winter Triathlon National Championships to Be Held in Breckenridge in February

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — USA Triathlon today announced the 2024 USA Triathlon Winter Triathlon National Championships will take place Feb. 23-24, in Breckenridge, Colorado. Produced by organizers of Breck Epic in partnership with the Town of Breckenridge, the new run-bike-cross-country ski race — named the Breckebeiner — embraces the Breckenridge community’s silent sport roots. Held at Breckenridge’s Gold Run Nordic Center, the event will serve as a fundraiser for the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (the BOEC), Team Summit’s Nordic and MTB programs, and the Summit Tigers Nordic and MTB teams.
Winter triathlon can include any combination of disciplines, but generally includes a run, bike, then cross-country ski, all on snow. Athletes may use snowshoes for the run and a fat bike for the bike portion. Winter triathlon is a growing multisport format, offering athletes a unique race opportunity for those seeking to explore their next multisport horizon. No qualification is required to participate at USA Triathlon Winter Triathlon National Championships.

I encourage all multisport athletes looking for something new to try winter triathlon in 2024.”

The Winter Triathlon National Championships course will utilize the 30 kilometers of groomed cross-country ski trails at Gold Run Nordic Center. Held the previous three years in Alaska, USA Triathlon Winter Triathlon National Championships comes to Colorado for the first time.
Top age-group finishers at Winter Nationals will earn the opportunity to represent USA Triathlon’s amateur Team USA at the 2025 World Triathlon Winter Triathlon World Championships, the dates and location of which are to be determined.
