2008 Olympic Team Support Staff

Team Leader - Scott Schnitzspahn
Scott Schnitzspahn is the Sport Performance Director for USA Triathlon, overseeing all elite athlete, development athlete and coaching programs at USA Triathlon. He served as the Team Leader for the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where the U.S. team won half of the available medals, including a sweep of the gold in both the men’s and women’s events.     

Olympic Coach - Sharon Donnelly
Olympian Sharon Donnelly is the full-time Resident Coach at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Sharon was a member of the 2000 Canadian Olympic Team and was the 1999 Pan American Games Champion. 

Olympic Coach - Andy Schmitz
Andy Schmitz is a full-time member of the coaching staff at USA Triathlon, overseeing the Junior National Team as well as elite camps at both the Chula Vista and Colorado Springs Olympic Training Centers.  Andy has worked with the Olympic team members as a coach on the World Cup circuit and at World Championships as well.

Mechanic – Jeff Donaldson
Jeff Donaldson was the mechanic for the U.S. Triathlon Team at the Athens Olympic Games and at numerous other ITU events, including World Championships.  Jeff has also supported the ITU Development Team over the past two seasons on the World Cup circuit.

Chiropractor - Dr. Alex Keith
Dr. Alex Keith is the physiology guru for the National Teams Program and works closely with many of the top American athletes throughout the year as well as being the Team Chiropractor for multiple World Cup events and the 2007 and 2008 World Championships. Dr. Keith operates a highly successful private practice and event production business in Lake Worth, Fla.

Athletic Trainer - Diana Palmer
Diana Palmer has been the U.S. National Team trainer and massage therapist at numerous World Cup and World Championship events. As a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee Games staff, she will handle all medical related issues for the USAT Olympic Team. She was also on the U.S. Olympic Committee medical staff that supported the triathlon team and other sports at the 2007 Pan American Games.

Triathlon Press Officer – Jason Mucher
Jason Mucher is the USA Triathlon Communications and Media Relations Manager and will serve as the triathlon Press Officer for the USOC, coordinating media coverage for the team before and after the races. Jason has supported U.S. elite and National Team athletes at three World Championship events, two World Cups and numerous ITU Pan-American Cups. 

USAT Olympic Support Staff 

Team Manager – Katie Baker
Katie Baker is the USA Triathlon National Teams Program Manager and will coordinate logistics for the team’s training camp in South Korea and once in Beijing for the triathlon events. Katie will also serve as an athlete spotter for NBC during the competitions.
