Age Group Team USA Athletes Compete at 2024 World Triathlon Winter Championships in Italy

Age Group Team USA athletes competed on Feb. 23-25 in the Italian Alps at the 2024 World Triathlon Winter Championships. The run-bike-ski athletes raced at Pragelato-Sestriere, Italy, home of the 2006 Olympic Nordic Skiing competition.

Sheri Schrock (Cohasset, Minn.) won two world titles in Pragelato-Sestriere, capturing the 70-74 age group women's crown in the World Triathlon Winter World Championships and World Triathlon Winter Duathlon World Championships.

"It's been a thrill to hold our race on the same ski trails that the cross-country and Nordic combined skiers raced on in the 2006 Turin Olympics here in Pragelato. A world-class venue," Schrock said. "Such a privilege for us. We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to ski here."

Schrock completed the 6-kilometer run, 9k ski duathlon course in a time of 1 hour, 40 minutes, 2 seconds and the 5k run, 10k mountain bike, 10k ski triathlon course in 2:19:29.

Anchorage, Alaska's Erika Bennett earned the silver in the women's 50-54 World Triathlon Winter Duathlon World Championships, finishing in 1:20:47.

In total, 19 countries were represented at the 2024 World Triathlon Winter Championships.
