Requirements for Event Directors With Minor Participants#
As of January 2024, the U.S. Center for SafeSport has implemented new requirements for all event directors who have minor participants in any capacity at their event.

SafeSport Requirements #
Athlete safety is USA Triathlon's top priority. We've teamed with the U.S. Center for SafeSport to provide members with training and resources to prevent or stop abuse in multisport.
USA Triathlon Certified race directors or those who are hosting an event with athletes aged 17 or younger must have maintain an active SafeSport training certificate and clear a background check.
