2024 Alpha Win Palm Springs Hosts 2024 USA Triathlon Military and First Responders National Championships

LA QUINTA, Calif. -- The fourth edition of the USA Triathlon Military and First Responders National Championships was held Sunday, Oct. 20 as part of the 2024 Alpha Win Palm Springs Triathlon in La Quinta, California, to honor the service and sacrifice of members of the U.S. Armed Forces as well as police, fire and EMS personnel in the multisport community.
This is the second year the Alpha Win Palm Springs Triathlon has hosted USA Triathlon Military and First Responder Nationals. Set in Coachella Valley, this location is renowned for its dry and sunny climate, perfect for October endurance racing.
On Sunday, competitors representing all branches of the U.S. military and various divisions of police, EMS and fire response raced the National Championship event that featured a sprint-distance (500-meter swim, 11.6-mile bike, 5-kilometer run) and an Olympic-distance (1,500-meter swim, 23.2-mile bike, 10-kilometer run) race.
Athletes competing were eligible to earn national titles in race categories including: Sprint- Active Duty, Sprint- Veteran, Sprint- Paratriathlon Military, Sprint- Paratriathlon First Responder, Sprint- EMS, Sprint- Fire and Sprint- Police, in addition to Olympic- Active Duty, Olympic- Veteran, Olympic- EMS, Olympic Fire and Olympic- Police.
