Plan Your Race Calendar: USA Triathlon Announces Full 2025 National Championships Schedule

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Triathlon today revealed the dates and locations for the 2025 National Championships, a robust calendar of triathlon and multisport events across the United States.
The slate of National Championship events joins the previously announced 2025 USA Triathlon Sprint and Olympic-Distance National Championships and USA Triathlon Multisport National Championships Festival Presented by Mutual of Omaha. Registration, powered by TicketSocket, is open for both events.
After a thorough request for proposal process, USA Triathlon selected events across each region of the U.S. to host USA Triathlon National Championships in a variety of distances and formats. USA Triathlon partners with trusted local USA Triathlon Race Directors to host USA Triathlon National Championships, which offer athletes the opportunity to compete for national titles against the top multisport athletes in the country and qualify to represent Team USA at 2026 World Triathlon Age Group World Championships.
Most USA Triathlon National Championships do not require qualification.

The 2025 USA Triathlon National Championships season kicks off Feb. 15-16 at the Winter National Championships in Breckenridge, Colorado. Hosted by Breck Epic Race Director Mike McCormack, the run-bike-ski race, named the Breckebeiner, will be held at the Gold Run Nordic Center for the second year. The event will include winter triathlon and winter duathlon. Athletes who finish either the Winter Triathlon or Winter Duathlon race at 2025 Winter Nationals will qualify for the 2026 Winter World Championships Italy. Find more details and register here.
Collegiate Club National Championships heads to the Homestead-Miami Speedway in Miami, Florida, hosted by CLASH Endurance on March 28-29. With over 100 collegiate clubs participating annually, this event is known for high-energy and fun. Events include Olympic-Distance, Draft-Legal Sprint, and the Mixed Relay. Athletes will swim in a spring-fed lake inside the Speedway and all races will finish at the iconic pit road and victory circle. For more information and registration, visit the event website here.
Military and First Responders National Championships will be held in conjunction with Leon’s Triathlon on June 1, in Hammond, Indiana, the third time for Leon’s Triathlon to host the event. Leon’s Triathlon hosted the inaugural Military and First Responders Nationals in 2021, and again in 2022. The core of these events honor and support the U.S. Military, Veterans and First Responders who have given their best for our country. In the Olympic distance, athletes can race in the following categories: Active Duty Military, Retired/Veteran Military, First Responder – Police, First Responder – EMS, and First Responder – Fire. The Sprint distance will include Active Duty Military, Paratriathlon Military, Retired/Veteran Military, Paratriathlon First Responder, First Responder – Police, First Responder – EMS, and First Responder – Fire. Multisport National Championships Festival Presented by Mutual of Omaha is June 4-8 at Lake Cunningham in Omaha, Nebraska. The annual event is a celebration of the different forms of multisport, with race formats including:
- Open Water Swim, presented by Synergy
- Draft-legal Triathlon National Championships
- Duathlon (run-bike-run) National Championships (draft-legal sprint and non-draft standard distances)
- Aquathlon (swim-run or run-swim-run depending on water temperature) National Championships (non-drafting)
- Aquabike (swim-bike) National Championships (non-draft)
- Super Sprint Triathlon Time Trial National Championships (non-draft)
- Super Sprint Duathlon Time Trial National Championships (non-draft)
- Triathlon Mixed Relay National Championships (draft-legal)
- Duathlon Mixed Relay National Championships (draft-legal)
- Adaptive Mixed Relay Triathlon
- Adaptive Mixed Relay Duathlon
- Super Sprint Individual Medley Triathlon
The event will also feature the super-sprint individual medley, a youth race and the 2025 Club National Championships. No qualification is required for all events at Multisport National Championships Festival. Athletes racing can qualify for the 2026 World Triathlon Multisport Championships in Abu Dhabi and 2026 World Triathlon Age Group Championships Pontevedra. Cross National Championships, hosted by Why Racing Events, will be in Hagg Lake, Oregon, on July 13, in conjunction with the Hagg Lake Triathlon & Multisports Festival. Formerly called Off-Road Triathlon National Championships, Cross Nationals features a picturesque mountain biking course along Hagg Lake. Race formats include Cross Triathlon and Cross Duathlon. Athletes racing will have the opportunity to qualify for Age Group Team USA in triathlon and duathlon for the 2026 World Triathlon Multisport Championships Abu Dhabi. Youth and Junior Nationals will be held in West Chester, Ohio, on Aug. 1-3, organized by IronEdge Racing, in conjunction with Travel Butler County. Youth athletes will race on a closed course, providing a safe, high-energy environment. Events will include draft-legal races for junior athletes and non-drafting races for youth athletes, in addition to a mixed relay. The event will have dedicated categories for paratriathletes and athletes with intellectual impairments, a part of USA Triathlon’s continued efforts to increase opportunities and access for current and prospective youth athletes and encouraging a culture of equity in the sport. Eligible Junior Athletes who compete at 2025 Youth and Junior Nationals will be eligible for remaining spots at the 2026 World Triathlon Multisport Championships Abu Dhabi and the 2026 World Triathlon Age Group Championships Pontevedra. Sprint and Olympic-Distance National Championships is headed back to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Aug. 8-10, bringing together the country’s best short-course amateur adult triathletes. The event will also include the annual Paratriathlon National Championships, offering U.S. elite and development paratriathletes the opportunity to race for national titles and develop their paratriathlon skills at a race on home soil. Milwaukee also hosted USA Triathlon’s largest and longest-running annual event from 2021-2023, and 2013-2015. Both the Sprint- and Olympic-Distance races will serve as qualifiers for the 2026 World Triathlon Age Group Triathlon World Championships. Athletes racing in Milwaukee will be able to qualify for the 2026 World Triathlon Age Group Championships Pontevedra. Ultra Distance National Championships will be Aug. 17 in Penn Yan, New York, held in conjunction with the Peasantman Steel Triathlon. Athletes will race for national titles in the ultra-distance, which consists of a 2.4-mile swim, 116-mile bike and a 26.2-mile run. Athletes competing in Ultra Distance Triathlon and Aquabike have the opportunity to qualify for the 2026 World Triathlon Multisport Championships Abu Dhabi. In Ultra Distance Duathlon, athletes can compete to earn a spot at the 2026 Long Course Duathlon World Championships Zofingen. For more information, visit the website here.
Gravel National Championships will take place Aug. 24 in Lincoln, Nebraska, along with the long-running Gravel Worlds cycling event. Gravel triathlon is a new, trending discipline of triathlon involving biking on gravel and dirt roads and trail running. Gravel National Championships will include both triathlon and duathlon race options. Athletes racing will have the opportunity to qualify for Age Group Team USA for the 2026 World Triathlon Multisport Championships Abu Dhabi. Registration opens on Nov. 10 on the event website.
Long Course National Championships will take place Sept. 20 in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, at the Wildman Triathlon Experience. Athletes will race for national titles and Team USA qualification in Long Course Triathlon, Long Course Duathlon and Long Course Aquabike through the heart of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The course features a pristine open-water lake swim and rolling green hills with distilleries dating back to the birthplace of bourbon whiskey. Athletes racing will have the opportunity to qualify for the 2026 World Triathlon Multisport Championships Abu Dhabi and 2026 Long Course Duathlon World Championships Zofingen.
