PARIS — U.S. Olympic Triathlon Team member Taylor Knibb (Boulder, Colo.) placed 19th in the women's cycling individual time trial on a rain-slickened course on Saturday, July 27 to kick off her Olympic Games Paris 2024 competitions.

Knibb is the only U.S. Olympian to compete in two different sports at the Paris 2024 Olympics. She'll compete in her main sport, triathlon, in the women's individual race on July 31.

On Saturday, Knibb finished her time trial race on the 32.4-kilometer course in 43 minutes, 3.46 seconds. Battling rainy, slick conditions, Knibb crashed three times on the slippery course and had a bike mechanical issue, which further slowed her down.

U.S. cyclist Chloe Dygert won the bronze medal, in 41:10.7. Grace Brown of Australia won gold in 39:38.24. Great Britain’s Anna Henderson took the silver with a time of 41:09.38.
