Membership Hub and Race Calendar FAQs

Please reference these frequently asked questions regarding USA Triathlon's new Membership Hub (launched June 2, 2021) and new Race Calendar (launching early 2022). 

RACE CALENDAR

What features are beneficial for race directors?

We have completely updated the Race Calendar and the Find-a-Race function. With a new design, more capabilities, and a more targeted focus, athletes will be able to find your events quicker than before and with the updated race calendar they will be able to engage with your event and learn more without leaving the system. We also have built out an event widget that will use geolocation to match events to athletes once they login to the new system.

 

Do I need to sanction my event again?

No, you will not need to sanction your event again. You will be able to go in and add information into the new fields (that will feed to the new calendar), but you won’t have to start again from the beginning.

 

Will anything change in the sanctioning system?

We will be adding a few new fields to the sanctioning system that help us populate the new race calendar with more information that will provide a better experience for members and allow you to better represent your race on the calendar

MEMBERSHIP HUB

What features are beneficial for race directors?
Reliability in the system, a more user-friendly experience for members and increased promotion of local races through a variety of avenues. Additional features and benefits will be rolled out over the coming weeks and months.  

Why do I have to go through this process to activate my account?

Your user information is encrypted for security purposes in both our old and new systems. As we switch to the new Membership Hub your old username and password will no longer work. Please note the new Membership Hub does not limit you to using your member number to log in to give you additional flexibility. Activating your account is a one-time process and you will not have to go through it again once you have initially signed into the new Membership Hub.

 

REGISTRATION/RTAV IMPACT

Will current members need to do anything?
Current members will have to activate their account in the new system through an email activation but will not need to do anything with their membership as that information will be transferred into the new system. This is for both one-day and annual members. USA Triathlon will send an activation email to all current annual members to access their account. The email activation will instruct that member on what to do to ensure their account and email address are correct and to gain access to the new system.

What will change for my athletes when they go to register?
The basic functionality will remain the same but the user interface will have an enhanced look and feel designed to streamline the registration process.

Will there be any changes to RTAV?
Yes! We have been working with the registration companies (previously using the API) to adjust their connection to our new system. The new endpoints are built on a newer technology which has added stability and efficiency for the registration as well as those using them to purchase a membership from USA Triathlon.

 

SANCTIONING/POST-RACE IMPACT

Has my sanctioning system login changed? 
Yes, you will now use the same login credentials for both the new Membership Hub and the sanctioning system. After activating your account, you will be prompted to create a new username and password, which will serve as your login information for both the new Membership Hub and the sanctioning system. When creating your username and password, you are welcome to use the same log-in credentials you are using in the current system as long as your password is at least six characters.

Do I need to edit my existing event in the sanctioning system?
No, you do not need to edit or update your existing event in the sanctioning system. 

Will the post-race requirements change?
No, the post-race requirements have not changed.

Will I still use the same location to share my results?
For now, you will use the same method as you have in the past. 

MEMBERSHIP HUB

What features are beneficial for coaches?
Increased promotions of your services to members and an enhanced user interface. The upgraded Find A Coach tool will enable members to find a coach close to their city and search by a coach’s certification level, specialty and multisport discipline. Additionally, the new Membership Hub will allow members to receive weekly training tips from USA Triathlon Certified Coaches. 

Your recertification requirements will be housed in one place and you will get alerts on their dashboard when they need to renew any of the below requirements

  • Background Check expiration date
  • SafeSport expiration date 
  • CPR expiration date
  • Recertification date

Should I open and respond to emails from info@usatriathlon.org?

Yes!  Correspondence to USA Triathlon members from the new USA Triathlon Membership Hub will continue to be sent from info@usatriathlon.org so please be sure to stay on the lookout for additional emails from this address.

 

When do I need to activate my account?

There is no deadline to activate your account and the email/link will not expire.

 

How to view your CPR certification

Once logged into your dashboard:

  • Click settings on the side navigation
  • Click “Certifications”
  • There you will be able to view all of your certifications

How do I become a certified official?

If you are interested in pursuing certification as an official with USA Triathlon please contact the program at rulesandofficials@usatriathlon.org.

How do I change the password on my membership profile?

You can change your password in just a few easy steps. Once logged into your account:

  • Click the Account settings button on the side navigation
  • Click on the “Login & Security” tab
  • Enter your new password two (2) times at the bottom of the page. Be sure to save changes.
  • You will receive an email confirming your membership account has been changed

I forgot my password and cannot login. How do I login?

  • On the login page of the USA Triathlon Membership Hub, click on the “Forgot Password?” option at the bottom left
  • You will be directed to a reset password page where you will be asked for your email address
  • Use your email address associated with your membership account and click “send password reset link”
  • Go to your email and click the “reset password” button. You will then be directed to a password reset page
  • Enter your new password in two (2) times and click reset password
  • You will automatically be logged in and your password will be updated

How do I change the email on my membership profile?

You can change your email address in just a few easy steps. Once logged into your account:

  • Click the Account settings button on the side navigation
  • Click the “Login & Security” tab
  • Under “Change your email address” enter your new email address and hit save changes
  • You will be sent to a page that says verify email address
  • Go to your new email inbox, open the email from USA Triathlon, and click the “verify email address” button
  • Your email has successfully been updated – If you not see the email in your inbox please first check your spam/junk folder. If the auto email is not there, please contact the Membership Department via email at membership@usatriathlon.org or phone at 719-955-2807 for assistance.

How do I renew my annual membership?

  • The fastest way to renew your annual membership is through the USA Triathlon Membership Hub. Once the transaction is complete, you will be able to print your membership card as the account will be created instantaneously.
  • Log in to your membership profile. On the top left of the dashboard will be your member card with your image, Member ID, Member Type and Member Period.
  • Click on Renew Membership located directly below your membership period date
  • Select the correct membership type you would like to purchase
  • Update any profile details including phone & email, primary residence, and emergency contacts. Then click confirm and continue.
  • Read and agree to the waivers. Date and sign the waiver and then click save and continue.
  • Select your payment method (check or credit/debit card) and add in all of the necessary information. Then confirm and acknowledge before submitting payment.
  • You will be sent to an order confirmation page where you will see your Membership Number. You will also receive an email confirming your purchase.

How can I view my membership card?

There are two ways to view your membership card:

  • Once you are logged in to your membership profile, on your dashboard you will see your information with your image, Member ID, Member Type and Member Period
  • Below that you will see a big blue button that says “Membership Card.” Once you click the blue button you will be directed to your up-to-date membership card.

  • Once you are logged in to your membership profile click the Account settings button on the side navigation
  • Click on the “Membership” button
  • You will be able to see your membership card with your current member number and expiration date

How can I see if my payment went through?

There are two ways to see if your payment went through:

  • Check to see if you received a confirmation email from USA Triathlon

–or–

  • Once logged into your membership profile, go to settings
  • Click “Payments & Orders”
  • There you will be able to see a complete order history of all purchases

How can I edit my address, phone number, email?

Once logged into your account:

  • Click settings on the side navigation
  • Click profile and scroll down
  • Click the “add a (phone number, address, email)” button
  • Create the new phone number/address/email
  • Star the most up-to-date/preferred phone number/address/email

How can I add a family member account to my profile?

Once logged into your account, go to settings:

  • Select the “add account button” at the top left of the page next to your profile image.
  • You will be directed to a new page where you can either create a new account for your family member or you can login to a preexisting account. 

How to view a training tip

Once logged into your dashboard:

  • Click “See All Training Tips” on the top right-hand side of the page
  • There will be a list of all of the available training tips to preview

How to view a “Latest News’ story

Once logged into your dashboard:

  • Click “See All News” on the left-hand side of the page under “Latest News”
  • There will be a list of all of the available training tips to preview

How can I find an event on the membership system?

Once logged into your dashboard:

  • Click “Events Calendar” on the side navigation
  • On the page you can search for an event by date, location, title, and race type

How do I become a certified official?

If you are interested in pursuing certification as an official with USA Triathlon please contact the program at rulesandofficials@usatriathlon.org.

 

Club FAQs

 

MEMBERSHIP HUB

 

What features are beneficial for clubs?

  • The enhanced Club Manager dashboard, which serves as a club leader’s main page, will show the club(s) that you manage
  • Alerts for club recertification/renewal
  • The revamped and improved Find a Club tool makes it easier for athletes to connect with your club
  • Ability to access SafeSport certification within your dashboard

What actions will you need to take to activate your account in the new Membership Hub?

As a Club Leader, you have already been sent an email from info@usatriathlon.org inviting you to activate your club membership account and confirm your email address on the new membership system. On launch day you should see your membership history update on your account. If you do not, please reach out to clubs@usatriathlon.org.

 

Officials FAQs


What features are beneficial for officials?

  • The enhanced member dashboard features custom notifications for certified officials’ news, alerts and actions, as well as the latest USA Triathlon news 
  • The USA Triathlon competitive rules are prominently displayed on each constituent’s dashboard

Why do I have to go through this process to activate my account?

Your user information is encrypted for security purposes in both our old and new systems. As we switch to the new Membership Hub your old username and password will no longer work.
