USA Triathlon and USA Triathlon Foundation Announce the Launch Of the Ignite The Spark Campaign To Kick Off Paris 2024 Countdown

by USA Triathlon

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — With one year to go until the opening ceremonies for the Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games, USA Triathlon, together with the USA Triathlon Foundation, today unveiled its Ignite the Spark campaign Presented by Ka'Chava, a comprehensive marketing and fundraising initiative that celebrates the resilience, determination, and dedication of the multisport community — from U.S. Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls to the growing diverse community of age group athletes, race directors, coaches, and clubs across the United States.

The Ignite the Spark campaign serves to empower triathletes of every level to be advocates for the sport by giving back to their community through contributing financially to the next generation of triathletes and through sharing their stories — from the relatable and relevant journeys so many athletes undertake, to the exceptional accomplishments that inspire entire communities. Ignite the Spark showcases the accessible, inclusive, attainable, and participatory qualities of multisport to both celebrate the community’s current participants and encourage aspiring multisport athletes to Ignite the Spark and take part.

“By harnessing the collective spirit of multisport through sharing the lessons, achievements, and journeys of our members, Ignite the Spark will serve as our rallying cry to unify and uplift our community as we work together to grow our vibrant sport,” said Victoria Brumfield, USA Triathlon CEO. “Once every four years, we are presented with the unique opportunity to show multisport and USA Triathlon to the world through our Olympic and Paralympic athletes. As we head into the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games and beyond, we not only have the opportunity to share stories of perseverance and triumph of our elite athletes, the communities surrounding them on their path to the Games, and our grassroots athletes, we also have the opportunity to accelerate from Paris looking toward Los Angeles 2028 and make a collective effort to fuel the growth of our sport.”

Ignite the Spark will celebrate the achievements of the 2024 U.S. Olympians and Paralympians before passing the torch to aspiring triathletes and fanning the flames to grow multisport in the U.S. as Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls refocus on their dreams to compete on home soil at the Los Angeles 2028 Games. Through community-driven storytelling, USA Triathlon’s editorial content will highlight the physical and emotional benefits of the sport, as well as the strength of individual athletes who overcome challenges to Ignite the Spark within themselves to chase their own personal finish lines.

USA Triathlon encourages its members to get involved by submitting their own Ignite the Spark stories — triathlon’s unique contribution to their lives — using USA Triathlon’s online submission form. All constituents in the multisport community, including athletes, coaches, race directors, officials, clubs, brands and retailers who share their Ignite the Spark stories — including how they Ignite the Spark by introducing and supporting the sport in their communities — will have the chance to be featured on USA Triathlon’s website, social channels and USA Triathlon Magazine.

Fans can also follow the action to Paris 2024 by subscribing to the Ignite the Spark Newsletter, USA Triathlon's email newsletter dedicated to the storytelling of the U.S. elite athletes chasing glory at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Ignite the Spark is part of the USA Triathlon Foundation's Comprehensive Campaign to continue to accelerate the growth of our sport culminating with the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games. Community members who are interested in supporting Ignite the Spark can support the program by making a donation to the USA Triathlon Foundation. Each contribution helps transform lives through sport by providing opportunities to swim, bike, and run through the Foundation's Three Pillars:

  • Encourage Youth Participation
  • Inspire Pathways to Access and Inclusion
  • Ignite Olympic and Paralympic Dreams

For brands and retailers, Ignite the Spark offers a unique opportunity to build your story alongside our engaged grassroots audience following the captivating storylines and athletes as they prepare for Paris 2024.
