Personal

In high school, Kirsten Kasper was a state champion in multiple sports including swimming (4 state titles), cross country (3) and track & field (2). She went on to compete in cross country for Georgetown University where she was a scoring member of the 2011 D1 NCAA Cross Country National Championships team. While at Georgetown, she received her bachelor’s degree in marketing and management, then she earned her master’s degree in sports industry management. Kasper was introduced to triathlon in 2014 through USA Triathlon’s Collegiate Recruitment Program. That same year, she was named USA Triathlon Rookie of the Year. Kasper counts being a member of the 2016 ITU Mixed Relay World Championships gold medal team, and earning her first ITU World Triathlon Series medal in Yokohama in 2017 as the proudest moments of her career. She is married to fellow Canadian triathlete Matthew Sharpe and they have a four year old yellow lab named Reggie. She enjoys spending time with family and hiking. 

Elite Triathlon Career

2024: Traveled to Hong Kong for the 2024 World Triathlon Cup race and placed third • Headed to Yokohama for the second leg of the 2024 World Triathlon Championship Series and placed fifth • Raced in Cagliari, recently, and placed 21st • Raced in the Paris Olympic Games Individual Race • Placed 17th in the WTCS Weihai • Placed 10th in the Elite race at World Championship Finals Torremolinos.

2023: Started her season in Abu Dhabi for the 2023 World Triathlon Championship Series where she placed fifth Traveled to Yokohama for the next race of the season and placed eighth Two weeks later she placed 17th at the World Triathlon Championship Series Cagliari In June she raced in Montreal and placed 18th She placed 14th at the 2023 World Triathlon Sprint & Relay Championships Hamburg Traveled to Paris for the 2023 World Triathlon Olympic Games Test Event Paris and finished 15th 15th place finish at the 2023 World Triathlon Championship Finals Pontevedra.

2022: Started the season strong on home soil by winning the 2022 Americas Triathlon Cup Sarasota-Bradenton in Florida on March 12 • Placed within the top-ten by finishing ninth in the 2022 World Triathlon Championship Series opener in Yokohama, Japan on May 14 • Finished 12th at the WTCS Leeds, England on June 11 • Crossed the line in 31st at the World Triathlon Sprint & Relay Championships in Montreal, Canada on June 25 • On August 28 she placed 10th at the debut World Triathlon Cup in Bergen, Norway • Claimed 14th at the World Triathlon Cup Valencia in Spain on September 3 • Had another strong top-ten finish at WTCS Cagliari by finishing sixth in Italy on October 8 • Unfortunately had a DNF at WTCS Bermuda on November 6 • Finished 17th in the Abu Dhabi, UAE at the World Triathlon Championship Series Finals where she ended the season 12th overall in the women's rankings. 

2021: Placed 14th at the World Triathlon Championship Series opener in Yokohama, Japan, on May 15 • Earned her 10th career World Triathlon Cup medal in Lisbon, Portugal, on May 23 • Took 15th at the AJ Bell World Triathlon Championship Series Leeds on June 6 • Grabbed a silver medal at the World Triathlon Cup Huatulco on June 12 • Qualified up to stage 2 of the debut super sprint format and placed 16th at the Groupe Copley World Triathlon Championships Series Montreal on on August 14 • Was a member of the winning mixed relay team at the Groupe Copley World Triathlon Championship Series alongside team members Taylor Spivey, Chase McQueen and Seth Rider on August 15 • Had a top-ten finish at the World Championship Series Finals in Edmonton, Canada on August 21 • Finished seventh at the World Triathlon Series Hamburg and earned her first points towards the 2022 WTCS rankings on September 18.
