2012: Member of USA Triathlon National Team and a 2012 U.S. Olympian • Finished 2012 ranked as the No. 3 American and 48th overall in the ITU World Triathlon Series rankings • Placed third at the Sept. 8 Guatape ITU World Cup to earn his first career ITU World Cup podium finish • Made his Olympic Games debut Aug. 7 in London, placing 51st after suffering a stomach illness throughout the race • Finished fifth at the sprint-distance Edmonton ITU World Cup on July 8 • Placed second at the June 2 Dallas ITU Pan American Cup • Qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Triathlon Team by placing ninth at the May 12 ITU World Triathlon San Diego for his top career WTS finish • Recorded a 30:44 run 10k run split in San Diego to run his way onto the London roster • Finished third at the Bridgetown ITU Sprint Triathlon Pan American Cup on Feb. 12 • Placed 14th at the season-opening PATCO Pan American Championships on Jan. 15.
