Insurance
USA Triathlon has partnered with the Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) to offer comprehensive insurance options for race directors. For specific policy questions you can contact usatrequests@marshmma.com.
USAT provides comprehensive insurance coverage to all sanctioned events. The coverage provides liability coverage to protect the race director, sponsors, volunteers, officials, and participants. The athlete excess medical coverage protects each participant for the day of the event.
Coverage for All Sanctioned Events#
Every USA Triathlon sanctioned event receives event liability and participant accident medical coverage in return for sanctioning with USA Triathlon. Learn more about these two coverages in the drop-down menu below.
USA Triathlon provides comprehensive liability insurance coverage to sanctioned events. The USA Triathlon policy automatically covers USA Triathlon race directors, sponsors, volunteers, officials, and participants while participating in sanctioned events.
Additional insureds beyond race directors, sponsors, volunteers, officials, and participants can be added sparingly and only if required by contract. Not all individuals/groups may qualify for additional insured status and an issuance of an insurance certificate does not guarantee coverage for the party requesting coverage.
Certificates are requested via the USA Triathlon Insurance Zone and must be requested prior to the date of the event. We encourage you to submit all insurance requests at least 72 hours prior to your event.
If you have any questions, please contact USA Triathlon Event Services or MMA.
